"Dexter" vs. "TrueBlood" -- The AdAge Perspective

Media insiders and industry aficionados who are fans of two of our favorite TV series, HBO's TrueBlood and Showtime's Dexter, will definitely want to take a look at the fascinating comparison, in an AdAge online article by Nat Ives, of the programs' media strategies. Published back in May, but more timely now with TB's Season 3 preem this past Sunday, the article features industry vet Antony Young , CEO of Optimedia International, as he looks at the various components of their respective plans and rates them according to the effectiveness of their promotional elements.

Though around here we tend to believe above all "the play's the thing", we don't deny that these days it also helps to get the word out in a manner that can cut through the marketing dross out there.
