Congratulations to Creative Arts Emmy Winners!

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards were awarded last night in Hollywood, in anticipation of next Sunday night's Primetime Emmy Awards. As hoped, Flaming Nose favorite the HBO miniseries John Adams came away the big winner, getting awards in 8 of the 12 categories it was nominated in last evening. John Adams won in its class -- Miniseries or Movie -- for Art Directon, Casting, Cinematography (JA had two noms in this category), Prosthetic Makeup, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing (also two noms for JA here), Special Visual Effects, and Costumes for the episode "Reunion". The photo above is from that episode, as Thomas Jefferson (Stephen Dillane), Abigail Adams (Laura Linney) and John Adams (Paul Giamatti) watch the hot air balloon ascension, wearing some of their award-winning finery.

The outstanding showing for this incredible miniseries bodes well for a big win next Sunday evening. Also doing well was another FN favorite AMC's Mad Men, which took home four Emmy Awards last evening, including Main Title Design, Hairstyling, Cinematography and Art Direction. We're also happy to see that AMC's other amazing series Breaking Bad took home an award for Single-camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series. Let's take a look at that Emmy-winning Mad Men title sequence right now:

A delayed broadcast of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards airs next Saturday evening at 8pm on E!, and of course ABC is your home for the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night. (And don't forget to vote in Round Two of the "Television's Most Memorable Moments" survey!)

The Flaming Nose congratulates all of last night's winners!
